3D Printer Technician I

Aleph Objects, Inc. ® is searching for a full time, entry level, 3D Printer Technician. As a member of the 3D print production team, you will operate and maintain a cluster of 3D printers, with the purpose of producing printed parts that comply to quality standards. One shift is available: weeknights Monday - Thursday, 10 hours per day, 6:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Role and Responsibilities:

  1. Operation of 3D printers in a production setting
  2. Minor repair and maintenance of 3D printers
  3. Adhering to and managing of printing production quotas and deadlines
  4. Cleaning of 3D prints for use in the production process
  5. Inspecting prints to assure adherence to quality expectations

IT Manager

The IT Manager is responsible for leading a team for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware, software and related infrastructure. This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values, enabling staff, volunteers, and Partners.

This individual is accountable for the following systems: GNU/Linux systems that support Free Software, network devices such as switches, routers, firewalls, access points, and phones. Responsibilities on these systems include SA engineering and provisioning, operations and support, maintenance and research and development to ensure continual innovation.

Role and Responsibilities:

  1. SA Engineering and Provisioning
    1. Architect and engineer SA-related solutions for various project and operational needs.
    2. Install new/rebuild existing servers/workstations and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
    3. Install and configure systems that support Free Software applications.
    4. Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.
    5. Contribute to and maintain system standards.
    6. Research and recommend innovative—and where possible automated—approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.
  2. Operations and Support
    1. Perform daily system monitoring, verify the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, review system and application logs, and verify completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
    2. Pro-actively operate a secure environment. Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
    3. Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary.
    4. Perform regular file archiving and purge as necessary.
    5. Create, change, and delete user accounts per request.
    6. Provide Tier III/other support per request from various constituencies. Investigate and troubleshoot issues.
    7. Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies.
  3. Maintenance
    1. Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure and add new services as necessary. Apply important security patches within one business day.
    2. Upgrade and configure system software that supports operational needs.
    3. Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures.
    4. Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.
    5. Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required.
    6. Maintain data center environmental and monitoring equipment.
    7. Perform network architectural design, diagrams, and numbering strategy to support a growing network infrastructure.
    8. Familiarity with one or more scripting or programming languages suitable for routine system administration.

Education and Experience:

  1. Bachelor (4-year) degree, with a technical major, such as engineering or computer science, or equivalent experience.
  2. Effective in managing and leading a team of System Administrators and IT staff. Ability to delegate tasks and assign priorities for the team.
  3. Five to ten years system administration experience.

IT Software Project Manager

Manage the project road-map and maintenance of Free and Open Source Software used internally at Aleph Objects, Inc. This role will manage the business' demand of internal software and translate that demand into actionable changes that lead to better internal and external communications, increased user performance, and an internal software offering that meets the business needs of the company. Managing the internal ERP software will be the primary focus of this position with coordination required across all parts of the company.

Role and Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the development and maintenance of the internal production ERP software:
    1. Through user feedback and stakeholder requests identify ERP software requirements and prioritize development.
    2. Manage tasks, priorities, expectations, and relationships with external developers and consultants assigned to the ERP project.
    3. Create test plans, coordinate, and perform testing of development prior to release.
    4. Maintain project budget, schedule, and release cycle. Plan and coordinate releases.
    5. Coordinate update release events and maintenance outages with stakeholders.
    6. Maintain release processes and documentation.
    7. Facilitate ERP process definitions with department stakeholders.
  2. Identify other internal software deficiencies through user feedback and stakeholder requests.
  3. Coordinate with IT team and stakeholders to determine priority and resource availability for development of bug fixes or features for other internal software needs.
  4. Communicate with relevant Free and Open Source software communities to provide user feedback, generate bug reports, and determine and drive paths to obtain issue fixes or feature requests for internally used software.
  5. Generate and provide project status reports to management team.

Education, Experience and Knowledge:

  1. 3+ years as a Software Project Manager with experience managing enterprise software.
  2. Experience with managing ERP software is highly desired.
  3. Exceptional ability to set priorities, pro-actively identify and address problems, and meet deadlines.

Manufacturing Engineer

This role is responsible for leading and performing as part of the Manufacturing Engineering team to support business goals including:

  1. Planning, designing, documenting, and reviewing manufacturing processes.
  2. Identifying problems with the design and/or manufacturing processes of active products.

  2. Maintain Manufacturing Engineering and Repair staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
  3. Maintain and review processes of communications with Tech Support, Manufacturing, R&D, Marketing, and Sales to identify and address product issues.
  4. Coordinate and perform manufacturing engineering tasks to identify problems with existing active products and implement corrections
  5. Review and confirm or deny all proposed changes to manufacturing processes and/or processes documentation.
  6. Help with other tasks as-needed to grow the company, serve its customers, and advance Free Software, Libre Innovation, and Open Source Hardware (FLO).
  7. Prompt consistent attendance is required for this position.

Manufacturing Engineer Technician I

As a member of the Manufacturing Engineering team the engineering technician will work closely with the manufacturing team to ensure quality procedures and standards are effective. This role will also work with the research and development team to assist in building and testing products and generating and implementing manufacturing processes.

Roles and Responsibilities

  1. Utilize digital diagnostics methods and equipment to troubleshoot new 3D printer issues in production and from users.
  2. Develop test and assembly fixtures/tools at the direction of the manufacturing engineer.
  3. Collect accurate test and process data and generate reports and documentation.
  4. Collect and process non-conforming materials from production areas to collect and document failure data.
  5. Assist with implementing approved process-related changes into manufacturing.
  6. Provide reliability and manufacturability suggestions to Manufacturing engineer to improve production repeatability of the product.
  7. Assist with equipment installation, implementation, maintenance, and training on all manufacturing equipment.
  8. Diagnose and repair returned product.
  9. Replace worn/damaged equipment, jigs, and tools.
  10. Other duties as assigned.

Senior Cost Accountant

Manage the cost accounting functions for the company, including: maintenance of the standard cost system, development of standards, monitoring and explaining variances and providing insights for operational improvements. Provide information about company activities that will assist management in making informed decisions for the company and its shareholders.

Role and Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure timely dissemination of reports including, but not limited to: variance analysis, development of standards, financial implications of rolling standards annually, financial statement implications and adjustments, inventory counts; budgeting; and forecasting.
  2. Oversee development of the standards, maintain the standard costing modules of the ERP system. Ensure the accurate and timely processing of variance analysis and adjusting entries.
  3. Provide analysis and insights to the Operations teams on budgeting, costing, KPI's and support for negotiations with suppliers.
  4. Oversee and participate in perpetual cycle counts, approving of the adjusting entries and liaise with the outside auditors to assure accuracy of the financial statement of inventory.
  5. Assure proper treatment, valuation and records of inventory along with providing aging reports and proper reserves to mitigate losses.
  6. Assure Scrap Obsolesce and Shrinkage reserves are maintained at a proper level and treatment of write-offs has been analyzed and processed accurately and timely.
  7. Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data, and enhance the company's value.
  8. Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.
  9. Communicate with co-workers, management, clients and others in a courteous and professional manner, and with discretion as-needed.
  10. Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
  11. Help with other tasks as-needed to grow the company, serve its customers, and advance Free Software, Libre Innovation, and Open Source Hardware (FLO).

Work Experience:

  1. Seven to ten years of hands-on cost accounting experience in a volume manufacturer.
  2. Experience working with external vendor analysis and negotiations.
  3. Experience working with Auditors or performed in an audit capacity in a manufacturing company.

Staff Accountant

Perform a variety of accounting and bookkeeping duties according to established policies and procedures. Maintains contact with staff, customers, and resellers, and observes confidentiality of customer and company financial matters.

Supply Chain Manager

The Supply Chain Manager will direct overall supply chain operations, including purchasing and inventory of raw materials, evaluation and high level management of vendors, and distribution of finished goods. In coordination with the executive team, this role will evaluate past performance data to forecast material needs and production levels, develop strategic plans to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of supply chain operations, and ensure that issues regarding supply chain are resolved in a timely and cost-efficient manner.

Role and Responsibilities:

  1. Analyze market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability and needs.
  2. Plan, organize, direct, and control activities related to the procurement function.
  3. Organize, supervise, and direct the inventory control team engaged in supplying the production team with materials, in maintaining a high level of inventory accuracy, and using available inventory space efficiently.
  4. Manage and supervise the shipping and receiving department in receiving, issuing, and delivering equipment, materials, and finished goods.
  5. Prepare and maintain instructions regarding purchasing systems and procedures.
  6. Manage and monitor procurement and inventory reporting systems to meet production and market requirements.
  7. Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
  8. Prepare and review contracts, bids, proposals, and vendor agreements for legal correctness, price, and acceptability of items to specifications.
  9. Supervise the Purchasing team with negotiation of complex requests for equipment, supplies, and services from suppliers and subcontractors.
  10. Work alongside the R&D and Manufacturing team to review standards and processes for bill of material releases.
  11. Manage purchasing, shipping and receiving, and inventory control supervisors/Managers. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the unit.
  12. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include:
    1. Interviewing, hiring, and training employees
    2. Planning, assigning, and directing work
    3. Appraising performance
    4. Rewarding and disciplining employees
    5. Addressing complaints and resolving problems

Education and Required Knowledge:

  1. Bachelor's degree and at least 10 years of experience in Supply Chain, Purchasing, Logistics.
  2. A very strong competency in computer skills is required including typing and use of web apps.
  3. A high skill level in using word processing and spread sheet software is required.
  4. Previous experience using ERP systems is required. Experience with and knowledge of Odoo ERP is highly desired.
  5. Knowledge of Demand Driven MRP is highly desired.
  6. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  7. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  8. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
