Quality Control Specialist

As a member of the Supply Chain team, the Quality Control Specialist will assure the form, fit and functional quality of all parts entering Aleph Objects, Inc. from outside vendors.

Role and Responsibilities:

  1. Under minimal supervision, preform visual and measurement inspection tests including calculating distances, angles, radius tapers, thread and gear data using complex measuring equipment.
  2. Report observations and make recommendations to the Material Review Board.
  3. Review products, processes and systems on an ongoing basis to determine where improvements can be made.
  4. Acts as a “go-to” person for quality control inspection procedures and winningly accepts responsibility of training other employees as required insuring inspection methods are consistent and performed in adherence to quality standards and processes.
  5. Be familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures with manufacturing in quality control.
  6. Assist in making inspection plans for parts and materials.
  7. Verifies and supports dispositions of nonconforming materials whether internal or supplier returns through the RMA processes.
  8. Utilizes precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, surface gauges, indicators, etc. to accept or reject parts so the product sent to customers meeting expectations and quality standards.
  9. Reads and deciphers complex technical drawings, incorporating tight tolerances as part of the inspection process.
  10. Inspection and reporting on First Article Materials.
  11. And other duties as assigned

Education:

  1. High School Diploma or equivalent and 5 years applicable product inspection experience.
  2. 3D printer experience is a plus.

Functional/Technical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  1. Understanding of inspection tools
  2. Basic computer use
  3. General mechanical understanding
  4. Lifting 30 to 40 lbs
  5. Must exhibit strong interpersonal and organizational skills with great attention to detail as well as excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  6. Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
  7. Possesses intermediate math skills.
  8. Strong problem solving, judgment and decision making skills.

3D Printer Technician I

Aleph Objects, Inc. ® is searching for a full time, entry level, 3D Printer Technician. As a member of the 3D print production team, you will operate and maintain a cluster of 3D printers, with the purpose of producing printed parts that comply to quality standards. Two shifts are available: weeknights Monday - Thursday, 10 hours per night, and weekend days, Friday - Sunday, 6 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.

Role and Responsibilities:

  1. Operation of 3D Printers in a production setting
  2. Minor repair and maintenance of 3D Printers
  3. Adhering to and managing of printing production quotas and deadlines
  4. Cleaning of 3D prints for use in the production process
  5. Inspecting prints to assure adherence to quality expectations
  6. Consistent attention to production quality
  7. Prompt and consistent attendance is required for this position
  8. And other duties as assigned

Work Experience:

  1. No minimum requirements
  2. 3D printer experience is a plus
  3. GNU/Linux experience is a plus

IT Software Project Manager

Manage the road-map, development, and maintenance of Free and Open Source software used internally at Aleph Objects, Inc. This role will manage the business' demand of internal software and translate that demand into actionable changes that lead to better internal and external communications, increased user performance, and an internal software offering that meets the business needs of the company. Managing the internal ERP software will be the primary focus of this position with coordination required across all parts of the company.

Role and Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the development and maintenance of the internal production ERP software.
    1. Through user feedback and stakeholder requests identify ERP software requirements and prioritize development.
    2. Manage tasks, priorities, expectations, and relationships with external developers and consultants assigned to the ERP project.
    3. Create test plans and coordinate and perform testing of development prior to release.
    4. Maintain project budget, schedule, and release cycle. Plan and coordinate releases.
    5. Coordinate update releases and maintenance outages with stakeholders.
    6. Maintain release processes and documentation.
    7. Facilitate ERP process definitions with department stakeholders.
  2. Identify other internal software deficiencies through user feedback and stakeholder requests.
  3. Coordinate with IT team and stakeholders to determine priority and resource availability for development of bug fixes or features for other internal software needs.
  4. Communicate with relevant Free and Open Source software communities to provide user feedback, generate bug reports, and determine and drive paths to obtain issue fixes or feature requests for internally used software.
  5. Generate and provide project status reports to management team.

Education, Experience and Knowledge:

  1. 3+ years as a Software Project Manager with experience managing enterprise software.
  2. Experience with Odoo/OCA ERP software is highly desired. Experience managing the development and/or operations of ERP software is required.
  3. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, and/or training and certifications in project management is desired; however, proven experience and knowledge is most desired.
  4. Experience with software version control software, Git experience desired.
  5. Experience with Python, Postgres, JavaScript, and GNU/Linux systems is desired.
  6. Exceptional ability to set priorities, pro-actively identify and address problems, and meet deadlines.
  7. Experience with Free Software tools and understanding of Free Culture licenses is preferred.
  8. Experience with the following additional software is desired: Phabricator, Nextcloud/Owncloud, FreeCAD, Discourse, and OpenProject.

Manufacturing Controller | Sr. Cost Accountant

Manage the cost accounting functions for the company, including: maintenance of the standard cost system, development of standards, monitoring and explaining variances and providing insights for operational improvements. Provide information about company activities that will assist management in making informed decisions for the company and its shareholders.

Role and Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure timely dissemination of reports including, but not limited to: variance analysis, development of standards, financial implications of rolling standards annually, financial statement implications and adjustments, inventory counts; budgeting; and forecasting.
  2. Oversee development of the standards, maintain the standard costing modules of the ERP system. ensure the accurate and timely processing of variance analysis and adjusting entries.
  3. Provide analysis and insights to the Operations teams on budgeting, costing, KPI's and support for negotiations with suppliers.
  4. Oversee and participate in perpetual cycle counts, approving of the adjusting entries and liaise with the outside auditors to assure accuracy of the financial statement of inventory.
  5. Assure proper treatment, valuation and records of inventory along with providing aging reports and proper reserves to mitigate losses.
  6. Assure Scrap Obsolesce and Shrinkage reserves are maintained at a proper level and treatment of write-offs has been analyzed and processed accurately and timely.
  7. Establish and maintain systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data, and enhance the company's value.
  8. Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports.
  9. Communicate with co-workers, management, clients and others in a courteous and professional manner, and with discretion as-needed.
  10. Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
  11. Help with other tasks as-needed to grow the company, serve its customers, and advance Free Software, Libre Innovation, and Open Source Hardware (FLO).
  12. Prompt, consistent attendance is required for this position.

Work Experience:

  1. Seven to ten years of hands-on cost accounting experience in a volume manufacturer.
  2. Experience working with external vendor analysis and negotiations.
  3. Experience working with Auditors or performed in an audit capacity in a manufacturing company.

Skills, Certifications, and Education:

  1. Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required.
  2. Understanding of GAAP, particularly as it relates to accrual-based accounting.
  3. Highly ethical professional with strong organizational and communication skills.

Travel Expectations:

  1. Approximately 0-5%.

Senior Software Engineer

Design, implement, and maintain Free Software used to operate and support Open Source Hardware platforms.

Role and Responsibilities:

  1. Develop high quality and stable software for use in customer facing products and solutions.
  2. Maintain, troubleshoot, and debug existing code. Review code changes.
  3. Work with Software Product Specialist and other stakeholders to align software releases with new product offerings
  4. Prioritize incoming feature requests and issues from users both external (customers and community) and internal (company). Estimate level of effort for individual and groups of tasks.
  5. Develop and manage continuation integration and build processes
  6. Weigh and analyze the architectural/performance of potential implementations
  7. Design software UI and UX in collaboration with other teams
  8. Submit upstream and manage downstream pull requests
  9. Provide direction and assistance to the Marketing and Technical Support teams in writing software documentation

Education, Experience and Knowledge:

  1. 4+ years as a Software Engineer showing increasing responsibility
  2. Demonstrated ability to develop quality software in a fast paced environment
  3. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field is desired However, proven experience and knowledge is most desired
  4. Proficient in C++, Python, and Cmake
  5. QT experience desired but not required
  6. Experience with software version control software, Git experience required
  7. Experience with desktop 3D printing or other linear motion controlled hardware is preferred
  8. Exceptional ability to set priorities, pro-actively identify and address problems, and meet deadlines
  9. Experience with Free Software tools and understanding of Free Culture licenses is preferred
